All consumption that happens at a property is related to the enterprises that are there. Some enterprises are also related to each other, for example if a herd feeds on a portion of a crop. These relationships are defined by ‘Allocations’, which are essential to give an accurate representation of the property’s business activities.
When you visit the ‘Allocation to enterprises’ screen you will see a list of Allocations for any consumption instances, plantings and crops that have already been created. If none have been created this list will be empty.
Each Allocation list item shows how much of it has been allocated and how many activities it has been allocated to. By default they will not be allocated to any activities.
To edit an Allocation, click on the ‘Edit’ button to the right of the list item. You will be shown a screen with:
By default the allocation amount for each enterprise is zero.
Allocate each enterprise as you see fit. You can choose to leave allocations as zero.
As you enter the allocation for each enterprise, the remaining allocation indicator will automatically update.
Continue until you are happy with the allocations and click the ‘Done’ button to save and return to the ‘Allocation to enterprises’ tab.
