A Grains Crop is a crop that isn’t sugar, cotton or rice that is managed over a 12 month period.

Crop info

After creating a new Cropping: Grains crop, you will be shown the ‘Crop info’ tab. This tab shows a form where you can define the basic information about the crop:

• Crop type
• Total harvested yield
• Whether the crop is irrigated
• Whether the crop residue was burned (and how much of the crop was burned)

Management areas

The ‘Management areas’ tab is where the area planted is defined. Currently this is a single input field where the planting area in hectares can be entered.

In later versions of the software you will be able to use the map to define planting areas, and the area will be automatically calculated.

Lime and fertiliser

The ‘Lime and fertiliser’ tab is where any lime and fertiliser applications can be logged. On this tab you will see two lists which are empty by default:

• Lime application instances
• Fertiliser application instances

Adding a lime application instance

To create a lime application instance, click on the ‘Add’ button to the right of the list title. You will be taken to a new page with a form where you can add the following details:
